Conventional mesh filters hold the collected grease within the filter. This creates a potential fire hazard if a fire occurs on the cooking surface. The VEE VENT is designed to allow the grease to drain from the filter into the collecting trough., and to remove the potential fire hazard from the filter.
The build up of grease on mesh filters also increases the operating resistance and without regular, thorough cleaning the air volume falls, with a proportional increase in power consumption. With the VEE VENT the initial resistance is always equal to the operating resistance and a constant air flow is created.
